    Hello All,

I have a senator who is wanting to examine our state's Emergency Protective Custody law. This is being driven by a constituent who has a family member with a mental illness and as a family they can't access EPC except through law enforcement.

Also, how EPCs and imminent harm is defined. We see some differences between rural interpretation and urban.

Any innovative or effective policies out there dealing with EPCs? We have a pilot program for Mental Health Courts so think they might be an avenue.

    Thanks for your help,

    Annette Dubas
