    Hello Association Executives, 

    Secretary Azar renewed his declaration of a public health emergency today - via a tweet, but we'll take it! 

    His tweet says:

    "I just renewed the COVID-19 national public health emergency declaration, effective October 23, 2020. We will continue our whole-of-America response to the virus and continue our work to ensure Americans have access to the care they need."

    Thanks, Frankie! Is that a 90 day renewal, taking us through January? Or should I just not assume any timeline until we have a more formal communication? Appreciate the heads up on a Friday afternoon! Have a nice weekend!

    Hi Shelly, thanks for reaching out. Here is the official declaration from Sec Azar to renew the PHE: https://www.phe.gov/emergency/news/healthactions/phe/Pages/covid19-2Oct2020.aspx

    While this declaration is in effect for 90 days, the Secretary can choose to declare the public health emergency over before then. We will need to stay tuned.
