New Data: CCBHCs Dramatically Expanding Access to Care

    Hi Association Executives-

Today, the National Council published its 2022 CCBHC Impact Report, showing how Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics are expanding access to mental health and substance use care nationwide. We will be sharing the report and press release in an email to our full membership shortly.

In short, CCBHCs continue to have tremendous success in tackling the dual mental health and substance use crises in America. Our new survey data underscores their transformational ability to expand access to care, alleviate workforce challenges within the behavioral health space, and provide a blueprint for the future of mental health and substance use care nationwide.

    Some select findings:

    • CCBHCs on average serve more than 900 more people per clinic than prior to CCBHC implementation, a 23% increase
    • CCBHCs offer access to services much faster than the national average wait time
    • CCBHCs provide access to certain forms of SUD treatment at vastly higher rates than non-CCBHCs

I encourage you to download the full report, which also includes data on CCBHCs' ability to support and expand the behavioral health workforce, bolster the crisis care system, address health disparities, and provide comprehensive care for children and youth.

We hope you were able to attend the preview of the results at last week's AE meeting – if you weren't able to join and would like to discuss the data at further length, don't hesitate to reach out.

    Best,

    Keisha
