  • 1.  State Expectations for Payer Response?

    It would be very helpful to hear what your MCO contracts or other state expectations are for payers/MBHOs to respond to provider inquiries OR how long your payers actually take. Our member data indicates that Optum takes 2+ weeks on average to respond to routine and urgent provider inquiries. We are interested in any information that compares or contextualizes this data to other payers' performance or state expectations.

    I am not aware that TN has any expectations or timelines for MCO responses except for formal appeals and grievances.
