Good Afternoon Association Executives,
I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing weekend! I would like to caution that the information contained below has been reported by a trusted media outlet, but has not been confirmed with the Biden administration beyond what is indicated.
I want to bring to your attention some long-awaited news regarding the Provider Relief Fund (PRF). Three sources familiar with the situation regarding the PRF report that the Biden administration plans to open applications for relief funds before the end of May. It remains unclear how much money will be included in the upcoming release of relief funds.
A spokesperson for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) – who are responsible for grant administration – said only that HRSA is working as quickly as possible to distribute unallocated relief funds.
Additionally, sources report that the Biden administration plans to extend the timeframe during which providers are required to spend relief funds. As you may recall, providers had a previously set deadline of June 30, 2021 – the administration is expected to extend the deadline as soon as this week.
We will continue to keep you apprised as additional information is released! For any questions, please contact:
