Dear Association Executives - We wanted to let you know that the
Medicaid Reentry Act ("ALLOWING FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE UNDER MEDICAID FOR INMATES DURING 30-DAY PERIOD PRECEDING RELEASE
") has been added to the budget legislation to be marked up by the House Energy and Commerce Committee next week.
Energy and Commerce Chair Frank Pallone (D-NJ) announced that the "Build Back Better Act" would be considered by the Committee on September 13 and released legislative language containing the Medicaid Reenty Act. See page 79 (of 80) in the attached and at this link -

Other sponsors include: Representatives Mike Turner (R-OH), David Trone (D-MD) and David McKinley (R-WV) and Senator Mike Braun (R-IN). We will keep you updated on the progress of this legislation as the budget process moves forward into the fall.
