Dear Association Executives - We wanted to share a new initiative that the National Council is launching - Social Workers on the Frontline of the Opioid Epidemic Learning Collaborative.

The National Council received funding from New York Community Trust to create a learning collaborative to prepare social work students in leading the response to the current opioid epidemic and other addiction-related consequences. We are working in partnership with the Council on Social Work Education on this initiative.

We are currently seeking applicants from schools of social work for this learning collaborative and we could use your help.  Could you share with anyone within your network connected to schools of social work?  We are looking for applicants that represent geographical diversity along with two schools that are within the metropolitan New York City area. Included below are the links to the initial announcement letter and the website for the initiative where you can learn more.

The application deadline is October 8, 2019 at 7 pm EST.   If you have any questions on this project, feel free to reach out to Maura Gaswirth, Director, Training and Technical Assistance at MauraG@TheNationalCouncil.org or Amanda Baer, Project Coordinator at amandab@thenationalcouncil.org.

Thank you for your support with recruitment of this initiative.

    Thanks - Neal
