Dear Association Executives - Below and at the links below from the Human Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA), please find information on HRSA's
Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program. Applications for loan repayment under the program are due July 22. Please share this with your members and please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You may have received the below e-mail asking to share the open application cycle for the Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program (STAR LRP) and online toolkit. In our efforts to reach health care facilities and applicants that support HRSA's workforce programs, we are asking for your help, as a valued stakeholder, to spread the word about this new opportunity for recruiting and retaining the behavioral health workforce.
The STAR LRP makes loan repayment available to new Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment disciplines. It targets behavioral health professionals and paraprofessionals who are essential to the interdisciplinary care team and who have not been eligible for HRSA-funded loan repayment programs in the past. This new funding opportunity provides up to $250,000 in loan repayment of eligible educational loans in exchange for six years of service in a STAR-approved facility. We have included new, eligible facility types. Health professionals can learn if their facility is STAR LRP-approved by searching for the site's name in the online application's Site Search.
The application closes on Thursday, July 22, 7:30 p.m. ET.
How can you help spread the word?
- Please share the STAR LRP Stakeholder Toolkit, now available online, with your member audiences in your newsletters, webinars, blogs, website and on social media.
- Co-host a webinar with us for your members to learn more about the STAR LRP and get their questions answered.
- Let us know what you need! We can tailor messaging for communications, like blogs or journal articles, to better reach your audiences.
We are more than happy to work with you to get the word out about this new loan repayment program. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions!
Best,
