Dear Association Executives - Today, we released two major reports, each highlighting the challenges and potential solutions our members face right now dealing with surging demand for their services.

First, we distributed a press release and report consisting of data and interviews of state officials regarding the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model. The data shows that despite widespread staffing shortages and workforce challenges (more on that below), adopting the CCBHC model has helped clinics expand access to care and hire more staff.

We encourage you to take a look at the state-by-state results in the report. The CCBHC model is one of the best solutions we have for helping clinics build out their capacity and infrastructure, which is why we're pushing Congress to extend and expand the program so clinics everywhere have the option to apply to become a CCBHC.

Second, we distributed a press release about a new survey of National Council members on workforce shortages that prevent them from meeting rising demand for mental health and substance use treatment. As you'll see in the release, nearly all our members report that workforce shortages have affected their organization.

You can check out the full report from Morning Consult.

Our member organizations report hurdles with recruitment/retention and burnout. So, while demand is up, supply is down and people must overcome this new barrier to access.

Raising awareness about the workforce shortages our members continue to experience is important and we hope to garner media interest with these new findings – and to link the CCBHC model as a solution everywhere we can.

Please feel free to share these reports with your members and please let us know if you have any questions.
