Dear Association Executives – National Council Board member Ed Woods brought to my attention an announcement from Michigan HHS regarding Specialty Integrated Plans (see links below).
Michigan is seeking to integrate their behavioral health care and their physical health care plans which are currently separate, under one entity to manage and pay for care.
The state is currently considering multiple delivery options including public-led, plan-led, provider-led, and private/public partnership models.
We wanted to see if any of you had experience with this approach to integrating care, and if you could share red flags or opportunities to ensure such a model improves access and provides the best quality services.
Thank you for your help with this – Chuck
