Dear Association Executives - Please see below and attached for information about a grant opportunity from HRSA, specifically for the Opioid-Impacted Family Support Program (OIFSP). Please let us know if you have questions or if we can help.
--------------------
We are happy to inform you about a new grant that might be a great funding opportunity for some programs in your network. The HRSA's Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) has opened the applications for the Opioid-Impacted Family Support Program (OIFSP). BHW is now accepting applications from eligible training programs throughout the United States. The application is currently open and will close on April 13, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. ET. This grant supports training programs to train, and expand the number of, behavioral health paraprofessionals, such as Peer Support Specialists, who work with children, adolescents, and transitional aged youth in high need and high demand areas who are at risk for mental health and substance use disorders.
As a valuable stakeholder at the National Council for Behavioral Health, we would like to provide you with additional information and resources for you to share with your audiences. Attached you will find a promotional toolkit with resources ready to share. The toolkit includes a drop-in letter, newsletter blurb, blog post, and social media messaging.
We would also like to encourage you to share this opportunity with your networks and potential applicants as soon as possible for them to take advantage of the Technical Assistance Webinar on February 4, 2020 from 1:00pm – 2:30 pm ET (see details below.)
Please let us know if you have any questions or need any additional information or materials.
Thank you for your work and continued support!
Best regards,
Wilmarie Hernandez
