All, me again! Our bylaws read: General Membership shall be comprised of l
icensed or certified providers of behavioral health services doing business in the State of Montana. General members are eligible for election to the board of directors and have voting privileges in matters of the Alliance.
Affiliate and Corporate Membership shall be comprised of other system stakeholders interested and supportive of the mission and vision of the Alliance. Affiliate and Corporate members are not eligible for voting of members or election to the board but may vote on membership related issues during the annual meeting. They can attend board meetings with the Executive Committee's permission.
We recently had a hospital BHU apply for membership and some of my MHCs went off the nut. Then we had an FQHC clinical director contact us about being on our board even though we don't have any true FQHCS but we do have 2 Tribal look-alike FQHCs. I temporarily solved the BHU problem by giving them a corporate membership so they can't join the board but can participate. Do any of you have special categories for BHUs and FQHCs or do you just not allow them as members? If so, what is the wording in your bylaws to allow or disallow their participation. Thank you so much, Mary
