Good afternoon Hill Day State Captains and Association Executives,

As you may have heard, the National Council will host a CCBHC fly-in on March 10-11, 2020! This will be done in partnership with our Congressional leaders in the House and Senate to tell our legislators that enough is enough, it is time to both extend and expand CCBHCs.

This March fly-in will bring CCBHC staff from around the country to DC to advocate for a two-year extension and 11-state expansion of CCBHCs much like we did at last year's CCBHC fly-in. This will allow many other states and organizations to participate in the CCBHC model and will prevent loss of services and staff that would happen if the demonstration were to end.

What does this mean for Hill Day 2020?

We will move forward with planning for Hill Day (June 23-24), and registration will open in early February. While we expect this year's Hill Day to have a slightly smaller attendance (due to this March fly-in, the proximity to our annual conference in April, and the June date), there is no shortage of legislative asks we will have ready for you to help improve behavioral healthcare in our communities.

What does this mean for State Captains and Association Executives?

We are incredibly grateful for your hard work in engaging your members in advocacy and organizing them at Hill Day. For those of you in CCBHC states, we hope you will be able to join us for both events, though we recognize that not everyone is able to make the trip to DC twice. For anyone involved in the CCBHC fly-in, we'll be connecting with you about the agenda for the event and booking Hill visits. For those of you attending Hill Day, the process will be the same as always (and we will address the two events in detail during our State Captain kick-off call today).

We're excited to be able to offer two advocacy events this year drawing focused attention to our policy agenda, and we're here to support you in every way as we work together to make these two events a success. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your patience, and stay tuned for more information about this event as planning progresses.

    Best,

    Malka
