I thought other Association Executives might find this report from Director Corcoran about her first year as the Medicaid Director interesting. The "mess" she inherited was stunning and this report validates the BH providers experiences and challenges. Its validating if nothing else but points to the many challenges our clients and providers face. Everything from patient eligibility, claims payment (1756 "work arounds" rather than fixing system issues), oversight, and general operations. I do agree she's put things in place to turn the ship, and we will have a long way to go. Grateful she's pulled back the curtain and brought the issues into the light of day so we can work together to solve them.
