Good morning Association Executives,

We have a time-sensitive request for personal stories about the small business loans exclusion for nonprofits who receive Medicaid payments. Stories are needed in the next hour.

As we have shared, the current COVID-19 draft excludes nonprofit organizations who receive Medicaid monies would be excluded from receiving small business loans. Specifically, this means nonprofit community addiction and mental health treatment organizations that receive Medicaid payments would be ineligible and excluded from receiving financial assistance in this package.

Members of the influential Senate Finance committee are asking for your stories of how not having relief will affect you from providing services. Please send us these stories ASAP, so we can get them to Senate Finance as they debate the final language of the bill. Think of the following when drafting your story:

• How many days cash on hand do your members have right now?
• What is the current state of your members clinic? Are they at capacity? Do they have resources to purchase supplies, cover employer expenses, maintain staff?
• What happens to clients if programs close or reach capacity?
