Dear Association Executives – As the ongoing pandemic continues to challenge our ability to hold successful association meetings and conferences, please plan to join us for a special Association Executives meeting on Tuesday, September 14 at 2:00 pm ET for a discussion on "Meeting Contract Considerations During and Beyond COVID-19" with Jeff Tenenbaum and Nisha Thakker of the Tenenbaum Law Group.
Please encourage your meeting planners to join this meeting.
We will discuss pandemic-related legal issues focused on contract cancellations and attrition and liabilities for in-person meetings, as well as addressing contract provisions to protect associations in connection with future events.
The discussion will include:
- Room block reviews and timelines,
- Attrition for room blocks and food and beverage,
- Deposit amounts and deposit schedules,
- Cancellation fees,
- Rebook and resell clauses,
- Force majeure provisions, and
- Bankruptcy and change of brand/management.
